The wife of the mines chief electrical engineer, Ivy, falls in love with one of the younger miners, however, when the mine experiences a disaster, Ivy is on the group trying to decide who to rescue first, knowing that in time, the second group will surely die of gas poisoning, Ivy of course, knew that her husband was in one group and her lover in the other.
