There are young people who entered high school with dreams of becoming doctors, lawyers, entrepreneur, actors, and police officers, just to name a few -never thinking that they would graduate or even worse, never making it beyond junior high. Sadly, this has been the outcome of many who have entered high school. I believe that every student who steps through the gates of high school is a potential candidate for college. But sad to say, somewhere between the seventh grade and graduation we lose either partial or complete focus off of why we entered high school. The desire to fit in and be a part of something and escape the issues of home life now out values a desire to fulfill ones dream.
