INDISCRETIONS OF A MARRIED MAN BOOK SUMMARY Mitchell Reid has been happily married to his wife Andrea for three years. The one thing he desires of his wife is that she devote all of her free time to him. He prides himself on being a good husband despite his overbearing and controlling attitude. He deeply loves his wife and believes that nothing could or would come between them. Andrea also has a strong belief in their marriage. Although she takes her vows very serious she has become quite restless with their quiet and settled way of life. Mitchell on the other hand, has become very comfortable with the way things are. Andrea begins to spend her free time away from home with her girlfriends, regardless of her husband's feelings. Their marriage begins to suffer and one night temptation deliberately finds Mitchell in a most vulnerable state. Without giving much thought to the consequences of his actions, Mitchell does not think, he just acts. Afterwards he regrets his actions, but it is too late. He could never have imagined all that would follow behind his one act of infidelity. His comfort zone is immediately snatched away and he is thrown into a world of humiliation, jail, and is forced to be a witness to how his actions have shattered his marriage and a family relationship. Because of his infidelity, he is exposed to a world that he had forgotten existed. He must deal with the new marriage issues he has created for himself and his wife, who is torn apart by the entire situation and is put in a position where she struggles with her husband's act of infidelity and the decision of whether to honor the marriage vows she took.
