Reseña del libro "It Is Not Raining There!: Tales for Children - Mylee Series (en Inglés)"

Do you know who Mylee is? Mylee is a sea-horse. One day when Babu and his friends bought a handful of balloons they saw Mylee stuck inside one of the balloons. As it played some mischief on a gigantic whale, the angry whale punished him thus. Mylee requested Babu and his friends to save it by releasing it from the balloon. And, the children somehow saved it! The little sea-horse, as a mark of its love and gratitude towards these children, wanted to stay with them for some time and do what little good it could do to the people living on Earth. Balu and his friends very happy to hear its words and they gladly agreed to keep it under their care. You know what! Mylee, the sea-horse can come in any shape and form! Let's save the Little Rabbit!Rain by its nature does not discriminate between people and places and it always pours with no prejudice or preference. If it rains the land will flourish, crops will grow well and the earth will turn pleasantly cool and fertile. And, the rain does many more! It will also clean and wash away the dust, trash and stains. Above all, the beauty of rain has no parallel at all! But, we are aware that normal rainfall, its nature has changed in recent years. It does not rain a drop at all or it pours and pours and does lot of damage. It rains in unusual seasons and rains not in the rainy months. Similarly, when Babu and his friends were returning from school, it started raining. It was not rainy season. Also, the sun was shining brightly in the morning. So the children did not bring umbrella or raincoat. They wanted to make sure that books are not drenched. So they rushed to the shade of the nearby big banyan tree.Kumar grumbled: "This rain is very bad. It has come suddenly".Allie teased him "Yes! Yes! The rain should take your permission before it starts pouring. Am I right?!". Babu lectured with concern and anger "nowadays rain, chill floods and heat have increased. This is due to global warming. We do not treat nature with care and respect. We behave arrogantly forgetting the truth that mankind is dependent on nature. Also, we think nature is a slave to mankind. So, we pollute the rivers, destroy the forests. More and more carbon-di-oxide is released in to space". Rainwater harvesting schemes are not properly done. We do not maintain hygiene and cleanliness". Hearing this other children realized the truth. There, one poor mother and her small child were standing hushed, drenched in rain. Clasping her child tightly, mother covered it with her crushed, torn sari to save the child from rain and chill. The children felt very sad. Tears welled up in Ponni's eyes. She spoke with passion "What injustice? We have become a free nation, but, still there are so many people like this, struggling in poverty. How can we be peaceful, if we have our brothers and sisters suffer like this? "Babu said "we should all take a pledge to change this position. That is when we become adults, all of us should work hard to obtain basic facilities, equal rights for all in the society. With this rain as witness, we will pledge. Okay"?All the children agreed. Each looked up at the sky, put out their hands in the rain and made that promise in their mind.
