He spends hours of his life visiting his old friend with no return for the effort as Dan responds to no one! Believing he is in love with Fern; Jack makes the mistake of confessing. Old school, Fern is furious with Jack and with herself----has she been sending him mixed signals? She cuts Jack strictly out of their lives. Unfortunately, Jack is unwilling to go and we witness the decline of his tenuous sanity. Unable to let go, Jack becomes a kidnapper....
