Exploring characters is often the best way to seek out the heart of any literary work, but too often we readers, no matter how experienced, focus instead simply on what happens. Shakespeare's World is not different than ours. We can find person with love, revenge, jealousy in our day to day life. Shakespeare's World is full of character which represents love, hate, revenge, jealousy and basic nature of human life. We can find Macbeth, Othello, Iago, and Hamlet in our day to day life. The basic concept behind writing this book is not to explore each and important character in depth. It has already been done by many researchers and scholars. I have tried to make small dictionary of Shakespeare's character with very short description and analysis. The entries in the dictionary are brief but informative. They often include descriptions of the significance of those characters in the plots of the works. Characters that are also historical figures, such as Henry and Richard, are treated in the same manner as solely fictional characters. This compendium of characters will aid the reader in many pursuits, whether academic or leisurely. We hope this reference will encourage readers to consider characters the primary subject of literary works, as opposed to plot. This book can be helpful in the preparation of NET and other Competitive exam.
