During the Great Depression of the 1920's. The female members of my family swapped recipes with each other . Sometimes it was by trial and error. Some were hand written, some were just word of mouth . Most of them only had Wood stoves and ovens. So they might be cooking all day and putting pieces of wood in the stove. Here are some of the recipes that my mother has used over and over since that times. They are handwritten in cursive handwriting. I figured this was the greatest tribute to them Enjoy the book and hope if you try your hand at the recipes you have success.
