Reseña del libro "Restoration (en Inglés)"

This is a saga; spread over two novels, of seemingly impossible love. The series plots the journey of John Craigs a highly intelligent young man born of humble origins, whose life is transformed by an accident, which leaves him handicapped. His future is played out in the period of history from 1900 to 1946, the tension between relationships, honour, pride, privilege, resentment, hate, and forgiveness. Experience with John the fears, sadness, and uncertainties of two world wars with their lottery of life and death, the only constant is love and the product of love, hope. As she brushed against him, her hair now loose, entangled itself around a button on his coat, immediately she sobered, as she realised she was bound to him. 'Oh dear, forgive me, John. I was lost in the fun of the game, now look what's happened.' John was obliged to steady her, as she untangled her hair. When her hair was freed, she overbalanced and fell forward against his chest; she glanced awkwardly towards John, then back down to where her hair had been attached to his coat. He was still holding her arms; he could feel their softness beneath his fingers. Neither made any move to separate. Cautiously she raised her face again, he felt the warmth of her breath on his lips, their eyes met and held, until he nervously looked down. John gently released her arms, shaking his head as he did so, saying, 'I'm sorry Margaret.' 'It's not your fault, John, it's my hair to blame, ' Margaret said, struggling to get her breath. Once more she lifted her eyes apprehensively, but still made no attempt to move, knowing she should, but was somehow unable, held by forces hitherto unknown to her. If she could ever break free, she knew without doubt that a fragment of her soul, that inner core, which was her essence, would remain forever in this moment. This single breath of eternity had stolen part of her, or had she freely given it? Whatever had happened in the past few seconds was something very new to her, she could hardly breathe. Pretend as they might, they were both very aware of the dangerous chemistry which had passed between them as their eyes met.
