Sarcomas are malignant tumors made of cancellous bone, fat, cartilage, muscle, vascular tissues or hematopoietic tissues. Sarcomas are classified into different types based on the type of tissue they closely resemble. Osteosarcoma, liposarcoma, chondrosarcoma and leiomyosarcoma resemble the bone, fat, cartilage and smooth muscle respectively.
