After two years of nomadic life they settled in Puerto Vallarta. Ruth developed a love and understanding of the Mexican culture and history while learning to speak Spanish. After seven years they returned to the states due to Ruth's husband's medical needs and settled on a farm in South Carolina once again making racehorses a part of their lives.
