Reseña del libro "The Fate of Yesterday (en Inglés)"

A man without a name is found dead from what seems to be a suicide. After being sent to the morgue for examination his eyes suddenly open. He begins a journey to find something he can't put a finger on. When he finds it, he elopes with an unspeakable emptiness, taking him on a downward spiral through his mind. The story follows him and five groups of people through their own trials and tribulations as they unknowingly help the misguided man to find his fate. The Fate of Yesterday is written absolutely out of the box. The enchantingly poetic writing style and cascading plot twists acclimate you to the point that you're almost prepared for the four fascinating climaxes that ultimately culminate in a mental onslaught sure to leave you without speech or air to breathe, reduced to nothing more than a fiend eager to re-read, if only to find out, is he simply insane, meant for a life behind the walls of an institution, or is he the second coming? If you absolutely can't stand poetry, or at least can't appreciate poetic train of thought writing that's beautiful yet requires your utmost attention to detail, please be aware that around thirty pages of this novel are written in exactly that fashion, and this novel may not be for you. The following excerpt is an example of this poetic writing style, "The wind swept in and around and swirled about, sending my hair searching for the way out or in and it never knew the way. I gazed out the window at the cool autumn day, where the sun led the way to the evening of night, as it drifted slowly toward the horizon's sight. Swimming steadily through space or sky, its withstanding wick washed with shades of yellow as it stained the clouds with a collage of crimson and orange passion that slithered like shimmering rivers across the sky and into the night." If you enjoy mind-bending psychological mysteries like Mulholland Drive, Lost, The Leftovers, etc. then this easter egg hunt of a novel is right for you. If you want everything spelled out for you in the end, fully explaining exactly why and how everything happened, and going back to re-read and find tiny treasures throughout isn't something that you believe adds long term value to a novel, then this book isn't for you. I personally enjoy creating puzzles for my readers, because I always appreciate anything that is worth more than one visit because something new is found every time. I believe that makes something more valuable, worth the effort to create, worth the time to read, and the money that you pay.If this book was a movie, it would be rated R or worse. This is not a book you read to your children. There is graphic language, extreme violence, sexual situations, and drug use. Warning, this book is filled with harsh reality. If none of these disclaimers scare you off, I hope very much you will enjoy The Fate of Yesterday. If you do, please leave a review and a 5 star rating. If you don't, please skip the review and rating and just contact me with some constructive criticism. I'm not a professional writer... yet. I don't have editors, publishers, marketing departments, or any of that. I do have a degree in English Literature from The University of Maryland though, but mostly because I suck at college math and flunked out of Architecture. I have a day job, two of them actually. Writing is my hobby and passion that I would love to do for a living, but slamming my writing in public doesn't help me write better books or feed my family. I'm a person who believes in The Golden Rule, and that if everyone else did too, the world would be a much better place. Thank you for your time and consideration. Take care, and happy reading.
