Sarah Taylor's life was perfect, until her parents divorced and she had to relocate from San Francisco, California to her grandmother's house in Arkansas. Fortunately for her she had one friend, Cynthia, an outspoken take no mess girl who immediately took to Sarah on one of her summer visits. Sarah starts 7th grade feeling alone and out of place, thinking that she would never meet any friends like the ones she left back home. Sarah has to navigate through her first year at Mayfield while making new friends and dealing with the separation of her parents and the change in her lifestyle. During her first year at Mayfield Middle School Sarah quickly becomes the object of Devin's affection, the most popular guy and an 8th grader at Mayfield. She also becomes the star basketball player which causes her some problems with the other 8th graders. Join Sarah on a great adventure of making new friends and having thrilling moments at Mayfield.
