This handbook will provide a guideline for parents to spot the common symptoms of a child suffering from trauma. It will also give the basic classifications of traumatic experiences, the psychological and physical long term effects if childhood trauma is left untreated, and a closer examination of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).The long term negative effects of trauma on the brain, the body and the emotional or mental health of an individual is quite shocking as we read the research. A child or teen who suffers from a trauma or loss may not be easily identified unless the family becomes aware or conscious of the child's behavior.It is a sad fact that we can't prevent trauma and loss in everyday life. We can however help our children thrive as adults by using the information in this book to help heal the wounds of loss and trauma early in life.
