Reseña del libro "Trip Down Memory Lane: Old Book for Old Thoughts (en Inglés)"

I have heard the voices of other people who remember sayings from their fore-parents, and I have included them in this book. I am thankful for their input. My friends and I have enjoyed sharing the "wisdom of proverbs" our great-grands, our grandparents, and sometimes, our parents, who have communicated valuable lessons to us down through the years. But, of course, some of those wisdom statements were followed with a good old-fashioned spanking-they called it a whipping-when we did not heed their warnings or sayings. In those days and times, we knew we had to be obedient to those who had the rule over us; that meant obedience to any grownup, and especially obedient to our teachers. The worst whippings we would get were when the teacher reported to our parents that we were hardheaded and disobedient. Teachers knew every parent and where they lived and did not hesitate in reporting what their children were doing in school. In fact, the teacher would have a sit- down supper with the parents to discuss their children. Our children of today need a better connection with the values of their forefathers and foremothers who were not rich in material things but were rich in ethical values. Join me as I revisit these values and sayings, which you may find familiar too.
