First published in 1903, this book presents the complete text of Turner's groundbreaking 1544 work on birds, Avium praecipuarum, quarum apud Plinium et Aristotelem mentio est, brevis et succincta historia. A facing-page English translation is included with the original Latin version, together with extensive notes and an editorial introduction.
