This is not about a personal quest. I did not decide to walk to work 100 times to see if I could. I didn’t do it in a single day. I didn’t do it to lose weight. I often walk to work. I enjoy the exercise and the sights. It’s a forty minute or so walk one way and my brain takes the time to unload and unfold and lighten.I’m sixty years old. I don’t know how much time I have left on this earth. So I decided to write about my walk to work, 100 different walks, to see what I was thinking about and what I saw. I usually forget it all. I guess I wanted to learn about myself. So I’m wrong, this was a personal quest. Who am I, and how do I behave when I’m the only one watching and listening? A walking meditation on the small journeys of life and what it means to travel them.
